FINDing myself (part iii)...

Day three.  Wow.  It was nearly over.

And this day we were shooting weddings.
Not just anyone's wedding though.
Four (well I only had a chance to shoot 3) gorgeous, gorgeous couples who re-dressed in their amazing wedding outfits.
But did I mention that they weren't just anyone?
We got to photograph some of the most amazing photographers.
Well that wasn't intimidating much!

BUT...they aren't just brilliant photographers, the are kind, generous people.
Who helped put my nerves at ease!!
I think we may have got sidetracked more than once with just chatting to them :-)

Many many thanks to:
Shane & Dee Shepherd
Seth & Tenielle from Feather & Stone
James & Catherine Day

Also a big thanks to Eva Carter for co-ordinating the day, complete with bouquets, a fully styled table and even an MG :-)

BTW:  Have I mention how much I L.O.V.E film???  I think I'm addicted!!!

FINDing myself (part ii)...

Day two of our fabulous film workshop was shooting families.
Shooting with a camera, shooting!

I must admit I was feeling a little weary.  A little overwhelmed.  So this day I took the least amount of photos.
But I still got some photos I am thrilled with.
Gorgeous models made my job e.a.s.y.

Both of these gorgeous mums are fellow film photographers.
Both incredibly talented.

The last frame is the only one I took of another photographers daughter!

Day three's post is coming soon :-)

FINDing myself...

Further to my film story, I had the privilege of attending a Film Is Not Dead workshop with the very talented Jonathan Canlas.

Feeling rather clueless (and intimidated) amidst a lovely bunch of farmoreknowledgablethanme film photographers and trying to hide my teeny 35mm (which wasn't so hard around all their fabulous medium format cameras), I decided to just get out there and shoot.
How else will I learn?

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised - after waiting with baited breath for my films to be processed!

Amongst other things, two things I learnt:
1) I really really really want a medium format camera (which I now lovingly own).
2) A good lab makes an ENORMOUS difference to the processing.  And a great lab I had :-)

Oh - that and that I.LOVE.FILM.
A lot!

So day one was four fabulous couples....here are some of my favourites.

Beautiful life within...

When Tearah first asked me if I'd be interested in photographing her birth...I was excited.
WAY excited!

When we met up a few weeks prior to her birth, Tearah, a fellow photographer, was planning on doing some self pregnancy shots, but then asked if I'd mind.
Did I mind?
Ummmm, yes!
I really have only done a couple of maternity shoots, and in no way consider myself a pregnancy photographer.
I'd actually say I'm scared of doing belly shots.
Weird when you consider I've been pregnant five times ;-)

But what I can say (plenty I'm sure!) - I think the photos speak for themselves really!
We had a great day bouncing ideas of each other.
Laughing lots.
Trying different things.
Some worked.
Lots didn't!

And wow - was she up for anything...even suggesting hopping in the pool, despite it not being the warmest of days!  And her sweet third child joined in for some of the photos too :-)

The fact that Tearah is one of the most beautiful pregnant (and even not pregnant) women I have had the pleasure of photographing certainly makes for some gorgeous images.
I'd be happy to look this good even when I'm NOT pregnant :-)

As for the birth...well I was blessed enough to witness and photograph that last week!  Stay tuned for that blog post!!
