I Love Mondays | Week 1

Well my friends, the day has arrived!  Today we begin :-)

I LOVE MONDAYS will be our project's name....because NOW we have something to look forward to every Monday :-)

This is all new to me too, so I will be muddling along...and open to any suggestions on how to improve our little project :-)

A few things I want to note to start with.

Rule number 1:  There are NO rules about the images you take!  But there are a few conditions to make this process run smoothly!

  • This is not a competition - so it matters not what camera you have.  What lenses you have.  It's all about sharing and learning and motivating each other.
  • I have set up a facebook group here...this is to discuss, share, ask questions, encourage, be open and honest and to have fun - please join in :-)
  • And yes, I regretfully have to say this, but please keep all nastiness out of this, otherwise I will have to remove you.
  • You don't have to share on my page, but if you want to be considered for my featured blog post it must be on my facebook page.  If you do have your own facebook page please link it with your photo so that if you are featured I can add it to my blog post.
  • Please have your image for the week posted by 9pm Sunday evenings.  I will do the featured blog on Mondays!  You can submit on any day of that week!
  • You do NOT have to participate every week if you don't want to, or you don't have time or you simply can't think of something to photograph/share.  I don't want people to feel pressured....but I would encourage you to give it a go.  If you find you are struggling for inspiration...tell us in the group and we'll all pitch in to help out :-)
  • Whatever theme/word that is chosen for the week...please remember there are no right or wrong ways to interpret it.  You photograph what YOU feel :-)
Okay....so that pretty much covers it :-)  Let's do this!

Week 1:  The Colour Green

I look forward to kicking this off....and seeing everyone's different perspectives each week :-)

All in together | Photography challenge

I have an idea.
But it requires your input.

Let's make a book.
But not just any book.
One filled with photos.
But not just photos that I've taken.
Ones that we will ALL take :-)

I want to start a photography project that involves everyone.
Yes, that's you.
You sitting right there reading this post.

So from the 1st April I propose a weekly challenge.
One that I will set at the beginning of each week.
And photograph along side you.

Here's how it will work:

  • Each Monday I will share a word or theme that we all have to photograph and share.
  • I ask that you share it on my facebook page.
  • On the following Monday (after I have set a new challenge) I will pick 5-10 images to feature on my blog...picked from the ones posted on my facebook page.   Please don't be offended if your image isn't chosen, even though you thought it was amazing!  I have no doubt that it is - but it will be more about the ones that grab my attention :-)
  • These images will become our story.  Our book.  One I will create at the end that we can all share in.

Most importantly...there are no rules.
It's not a competition.
It's just about sharing.
And motivating.
And doing something we love :-)

So....are you in???

Firstly let's think of a name for this project together.
I propose we do this until the end of the year.
That's about 36 weeks.
We can extend it then if we want to!  No rules remember!!!!

So please leave a comment with a creative name for our little project :-)

A Day in the Life | Master 14

The teenager!!!

Apparently he didn't give his approval for this project.
Any photos of him with no shirt on MUST be in black and white.
Apparently I appeared 'stalkerish' when taking some of these shots.
And I am NOT to take any photos of him sleeping.

Oh boy....

A Day in the Life | Master 12

A day in the life of the almost teenager!
Complete with water bombs (not that that's normal...but I needed them for the other project I am currently doing....so the kids weren't complaining!!).
And look at what the recurring theme with this boy is - reading!!!!

A Day in the Life | Master 9

As they get older there are more responsibilities - chores, piano/guitar practice.
But there is still always time for fun...
even if it is pouring rain!
