Canada....on film!!

Goodness...don't die of shock.  Some 5 months after we have arrived home from Canada I'm finally getting a chance to look at some of the 6000+ images I took.  Well, I'm only currently looking at the film ones...because I feel a tad overwhelmed (still!) with how many I have to sort of digital ones!

So for now...enjoy a trip to Western Canada in winter!
It really was the trip of a lifetime.
The kids will remember it forever.
And ever.

These were all taken on 35mm film (I didn't have room for my medium format!).  I didn't actually shoot so much film, so there are rather large chunks of the holiday not included in this lot!  But it's a general idea!

Vancouver
This is where we began.  With a week to recover from jet-lag and to gradually introduce us to the cold and very short days!

Whistler
With 10 days here to thoroughly enjoy the snow.  Skiing, snowboarding & beautiful powdery snow - that we shared with thousands of other tourists!
This is also where we enjoyed our first white christmas experience (santa still managed to find the kids!).

Lake Louise
Staying at Banff we made the short drive to Lake Louise a few times.  The ice sculptures were incredible (and the snowman that somewhere else had make in the middle of the lake was cool too!).

Banff
We had 10 days here before we headed back to BC.  Surrounded by snow but with blue skies it certainly was incredibly picturesque.
BUT...it was absolutely freezing!  Even our hair froze when we were in the hot tub!
Here we tried snow-shoeing, dog sledding, snow mobiling and tobogganing :-)
There were even some semi-tame reindeer at the resort we stayed at!
